Russian for Indians has been prepared to be used as a text-book for teaching and learning Russian language for adults and young learners.
It is meant for beginners and it covers all the major topics of grammar which are taught to the beginners. After the Introductory part each lesson of the book has been divided into the following parts: grammar with exercises, text(s) and dialogue(s), some phrases, detailed exercises on texts, dialogues and grammar, new vocabulary with meanings, conjugation of verbs.
There are, in all, twenty-five lessons in the book. After the twenty-fifth lesson some additional texts and poems have also been given. This is followed by Russian-English and English-Russian Vocabulary. The vocabulary is limited to about 1500 most essential words of Russian.
At the end a consolidated list of verbs with their conjugations has been given. All the topics of grammar are accompanied by exercises to consolidate the topics covered. This book fulfills the long-felt need for an Indian text-book of Russian.
